Save Time & Pounds with MoneySupermarket’s Car Insurance App

It feels as though you can get an app for anything these days and the insurance industry hasn’t exactly been a stranger to this market; with many providers producing iPhone apps which allow users to retrieval deals which they are willing to offer to prospective customers.

However, the one big limitation of these has been that you are never certain that you are getting the best deal on the market. If you are looking to ensure this you will need to download multiple apps available through different insurers and re-enter your personal details each time; a process which can be rather time consuming.

MoneySupermarket has set about addressing these problems; releasing the world’s first car insurance comparison app which retrieves quotes from over one hundred different providers in just three clicks.

Developed by the award winning digital communication firm MIG (Mobile Interactive Group), the app won The Guardian’s consumer app of the week award upon its launch; with critic Mark King praising it for its ease of use and functionality: “this is an undeniably useful app. If you are car-hunting and see a car in a garage forecourt or for sale privately, you can quickly see if the insurance would make it prohibitively expensive to own.”

One of the more impressive features of the app is its ability to retrieve information which is stored about prospective vehicles on the DVLA database upon users entering a car registration plate number. This not only saves users the time and effort which would be required to individually enter the information about each vehicle in multiple different categories (i.e. make, model, engine size etc.) but also reduces the possibility of human errors which could invalidate possible policies at this crucial stage in the insurance calculation process.

The time which is required in order to enter personal information has also been reduced, with users only needing to enter this information on the first time they use the app upon creating a MoneySupermarket user account. The information will then be saved for future usage, making the quote retrieval process much faster in the future.

MoneySupermarket’s Julie Fisher has predicted that it will revolutionise the insurance buying process; allowing motorists to compare quotes in any place at any time. This also includes the vehicle forecourt at a time when potential insurance premiums on vehicles are becoming an increasing large consideration in light of the price rises which have been experienced in recent years. Indeed, the AA estimates that the average motorist is now paying £921 per year for car insurance. Quotes can also be saved for future reference; meaning that users can compare deals available on various different vehicle before making their final choice.

The MoneySupermarket car insurance comparison app can now be downloaded free of charge on iTunes.
